Programma

Meet up in JR Karuizawa station at 11:10 am and take a cab to the kitchen about 5 min.
Start from a lecture regarding Japanese seasonings, such as soy and fermented food, such as soy sauce, sake and miso to understand more about Japanese food. You will learn seasonal ingredients and food related to yearly traditional event.

The cooking session is all hands on. After chopping the ingredients appropriate size and shape, the participants will mix the sauce using seasonings. At the end part, The participants cook the ingredients and serve in a dishes. There are many little tips to make delicious meal.

The cooking class conduct in meal time. A glass of sake which go with the main dish will be served. Enjoy the meal in peaceful dining area.

I've been teaching Japanese cooking for foreign visitors since 2016. I've been enjoying sharing my knowledge of Japanese food and cooking techniques, moreover, exciting to meet new people from all over the world each time. I lived in the US for 10 years and I graduated cooking school in NYC, disciplined in a French restaurant then attended a graduate school, my major is Food Studies. I've been keen on Food for years. After I got back to Japan, I attended a traditional Japanese cooking class and got a license of sake sommelier. It is more than happy to share my experience to food lovers from over the world.

The cooking class is offered in a country house in Karuizawa. Karuizawa area is well known for prominent summer resort.

The hose has beautiful moss garden with pine trees. You can see the garden covered with snow from the living room in winter time.

It takes 5 min by cab from JR Karuizawa station. You can walk to Kyu karuizawa from the house about 20 min.
