"Kos" is best understood by experiencing it, so join us to get a better understanding of Norwegian culture from a local perspective. Kos is to us Norwegians what "hygge" is to the Danes. A more relaxed and grounded life style that makes time for candles, hot drinks, good friends, home baked cakes, relaxed clothing, books, knitting, and being in the moment. 1) We meet in the hipster area Grunerløkka in a cafe that is a great example of how to be cool, without loosing the "kos"-factor. Over a hot drink, we get to know each other and introduce the topic of "kos". 2) Walking, no matter the weather, is considered "koselig" in Norway, so off we go through Grunerlokka. I will show you some of my most favourite spots representing typical Norwegian lifestyle. It will be a mix of architecture, food, design and nature depending on what is moving on that particular day. I will tell you a bit about the history of the area. 3) After the walk we head for my loft home for a typical Norwegian gettogether with traditional waffels, candles and wollen socks. I will tell you what is the "Norwegian arm" and other peculiarities of us Norwegians. Before you go you get a small surprise to take with
Il tuo host
I work as a communication trainer helping people interact and cultural values is a corner-stone in my work. I have lived in the area Grunerløkka for 16 years and seen it develop into the hipster area of Oslo, whilst still managing to keep it's vital "kos"-factor .With years spent in UK, Germany and Cuba my multicultural experience allows me to look at us Norwegians with an outside perspective. Peculiarities and habits astonishing to visitors, but perfectly normal to us. I know live partly in Cuba, incorporating my Norwegian kos-culture there too.
