Swallow Cottage, Auldgirth - north of Dumfries.

Swallow Cottage was lovingly converted by Steve and Sarah from McMurdoston's old granary in 2014 and provides a wonderfully peaceful place to stay while exploring Dumfries and Galloway. The cottage is only 20 minutes drive from a 24-hour supermarket, a cinema and numerous eateries, but once you get here you'll feel as if you are truly in the middle of nowhere. We live just across the yard if you need us and we'll do everything we can to make your stay comfortable, relaxing and quietly memorable.

Located next to the owners’ home, but still maintaining solitude and privacy, the cottage is surrounded by open fields and is a haven for wildlife.

This semi detached property has been recently renovated, retaining beautiful period beams & fireplaces. On the Cumbria Way with fells, footpaths, bridleways & cycle routes from the doorstep. The Granary is a category B listed building and has been fully renovated to a high standard and equipped with everything you need for a relaxing short stay. Private grounds with access to a peaceful garden and wonderful countryside views. One mile to local village of Moniaive and six miles drive to Thornhill with great local restaurants and activities. Non smoking and unfortunately no pets.

Part of the beauty of Woodend is even though you are surrounded by fields, it’s only a stroll into Dumfries town centre (20 mins) where you will find pubs, restaurants and shopping.

Stepford Station Cottage is the perfect cosy retreat for nature lovers. We welcome up to 2 well behaved dogs at no extra fee.
