Beautifully restored to expose some of its original stonework, this cottage sleeps 4. On the ground floor a main bedroom and separate bathroom. Loft room with 2 single beds, not suitable for young children. Kitchen, living and dining area is spacious and open-plan, fully equipped and fitted with a cast-iron fireplace for winter. Slightly elevated, boasting views of the river from its undercover patio- ideal for birdwatching. Access to river jetty a short walk down through the farms olive grove.

At Bronze Grove Farm and Chalets we encourage you to wonder around and absorb the natural earthy pleasures of farm life. The farm is situated at the foothills of the Langeberg Mountain Range and incorporates part of the famous Tradouw Pass and is 3 kms from the quaint little village of Barrydale. We are a working farm concentrating on olives. We hand harvest and produce extra virgin cold pressed olive oil and bottled olives. We have introduced zebra and various antelope that roam freely.

Rolling lawn and river access, use one of our stand up paddle boards or the Kayak and enjoy the river directly from our jetty. Aardvark Bioreserve - Die Opstal (The Farmhouse)

Die Opstal is a comfortable and stylish of-the-grid farm house, the largest of our cottages/houses. Easily sleeping 8 people, (4 bedroom, 5 bathroom) this classic house offers a large fully equipped kitchen with a pizza oven, two in-door fireplaces, a wood fired hot tub on one of two large patios and your own boma/lapa. You also have your own tv room and then of course a bicycle shed. The house is very private and your are close to the Miertjies Kraal Dam, and our hiking and MTB trails.

A house on the estuary of a VERY BIG river ie - Lower Breede river - about 15km from the sea, the house is set back about about 15m from the river . It is completely off the grid , ie only solar power and rainwater. It might not suit city dwellers who need every gadget and convenience but its heaven for the hardier ones Please bring bedding and towels . The are pillows and various duvet inners but we don't have a washing machine so we cannot supply linen
