Best location in Cherry Grove. One block from the Beach across from Boulineau's IGA store-Basil’s & Duffy's. The Surf Golf Club is a half mile away with driving range & putting green available. We have restored and improved the interior and completed major projects outside- natural gas fireplace, grill and "on demand" hot water. House built in 1952 so don't expect miracles. Some people love the old style "Beachy" feel but if you expect luxury please look elsewhere.

THE GALLERY is 1 block from the beach in the heart of Cherry Grove. Each unit is ideal for 5 or 6 but will accommodate 7 or 8 using all of the beds and futons to full capacity. Air mattresses are also available for larger groups. Plan to pay extra for air mattresses. For smaller groups we offer GALLERY UPPER and GALLERY LOWER as separate units during April and from September through February.
THE GALLERY LOWER LEVEL has:
•Master Bedroom with a Queen bed.
• 3 Smaller Bedrooms with Single beds.
• 2 Full baths with showers
•Living Room has Futon and TV
•Kitchen with Refrigerator, Stove, Microwave & coffee maker.
•Ideal for 5 but will accommodate 7
THE GALLERY UPPER LEVEL has:
•Large family room with 50” flat screen; Blue Ray; and Wi-Fi throughout.
•Fully equipped kitchen with microwave and Refrigerator.-Freezer
•Full Bath with tub and overhead shower
•Master Bedroom with a Queen and Single bed with 42” flat screen TV - Sleeps 3
•Second Bedroom has a Double and Single bed with 42' flat screen TV - Sleeps 3
The living room has a Queen Sleeper Sofa - Sleeps 2
The UPPER LEVEL is ideal for up to 6 Guests but will accommodate 8.
UPPER LEVEL also has a large enclosed Porch and Deck - a great place to gather and play games rain or shine.

The house, yard and parking areas are private property reserved exclusively for our guests. All of our houses park four or more 4 vehicles.
We also rent: BREEZY sleeps 16-24 and is two houses away from THE GALLERY. It has a large pool. BEACHY sleeps 12-18 and is three (3) blocks away . BREEZY TWO is two blocks away and sleeps 22. Think about renting all four (4) for special events like family reunions and spring break. Book a short stay to check us out and negotiate terms for groups of 20 or more.

During the peak season we rent the whole house to large groups of 12 or more. We cannot predict what kind of coffee, shampoo, tooth paste and other essentials you may prefer and do not provide them. However, all of our mattresses are encased for protection against spills and other hazards. Futons are vinyl or faux leather for easy cleaning. We supply pillows, sheets and pillow cases for each bed and for futons when required but beds are not made up except upon request and with an extra charge of $10 per bed. We provide 3 or more bath towels, 3 hand towels, 3 rolls of toilet paper and one bottle of hand soap in each bathroom. The kitchen is supplied with a bottle of dish washing liquid, dish washer soap, paper towels, hand soap and other kitchen essentials. The laundry room has one bottle of liquid soap. Groups that stay longer than a day or two need to shop for additional supplies.
We should also note that we do not have a disposal in the kitchen nor are our refrigerators equipped with ice makers. Sink disposals are more trouble than they are worth since they stop up easily and are ruined by sand. Similarly, ice makers are inadequate for the clientele we generally serve. Bag ice is available from Boulineau’s and other places at a nominal cost. If you really do need an ice maker we can supply one for an additional $100.

VIEWING THE VIDEO: The Drone was about 100 feet above my house and next to two of our rental houses: My house has a widows' walk with a red umbrella. The Gallery is the "Dark Green" house. BREEZY (also listed on Airbnb) is the two story "Light Green" house with a pool just two houses away on the same Avenue. The Gallery and Breezy are across the street from the large grocery/variety store which carries everything you will need while staying in our houses. The Drone camera turns 360 degrees to show the entire area. We were milling around our Widow's Walk while the video was recording. It doesn't take much to entertain us. Another rental house (listed as Beachy on Airbnb) appears about 2 minutes into the video. It is the two-story "Green" house on pilings with pavers in the driveway. You can see the beach from the top balcony.
Boulineu's is across the street and has some of the best fried chicken in Myrtle Beach. Also across the street from a fantastic pizza place, Basil's.

I am a retired Professor of Economics (University of Georgia). I have written many articles and several books and remain active intellectually and otherwise. I am also active on various social media sites. My rental housing venture is mainly to keep involved with younger people and to pursue my interests in in historic preservation. This property is an example. Three years ago the house was a beach-front duplex on a foundation. It was gifted to Habitat for Humanity so we purchased, moved and renovated. Houses two blocks from the beach are in a flood plane so we had to raise it 14 feet, build a "cradle" under it and install pilings. North Myrtle Beach building codes are very strict so we were required to make it a single family dwelling. We did so by connecting the Upper and Lower floors with an indoor stairway. However, we also installed new doorways on each level with dead bolt locks to ensure privacy for groups that desire some privacy. The house has all new windows, siding, electric wiring, pluming and two additional bathrooms. There are very few empty lots in Cherry Grove so new construction and major renovations like the one we undertook usually require tearing down older and usually smaller houses. This was a major project but preserves some of the "old style" beach houses.
