Lee gave very good an correct instruction to find the apartment. Apartment was well equip and in a good location. The apartment ist downside and was difficult to get down with luggage. There is no seperation between bedroom and the main house witch other residents lifes. This was little unpleasant for us.

Perfect little apartment, central to Exeter and close to shops, public transport, restaurants and the beautiful Quay. Definitely recommend this in the future. Lee is a perfect host; always available if you need him. Thanks Lee!

Bad musty odour in bedroom. No fresh air window would not open. Mold on the bathroom wall.

I am sorry that your stay fell short of your expectations. In response to the mould issue, I can only apologise. The bathroom is subterranean and without windows, situated in the basement of a Georgian house well over 120 years old. There is an extractor fitted and the walls have been lined with a waterproof render on the inside. After showering condensation can form on the inside of the bathroom walls because the space is heated and the walls are very thick and cold to the touch. Unfortunately the render on the bathroom walls has a rough texture which is not so easy to clean thoroughly. I have noticed a small patch of mould can sometimes appear on the wall low down near to the WC which the housekeeper is aware of. It is cleaned with an anti mould solution after every changeover of guests. We are constantly looking at ways combat the issue and to improve the experience for our guests. I am sorry you were unable to open the window to the bedroom. My housekeeper was there this morning and reported that she was able to open it. The lever is stiff but it does work. Had you contacted me by phone or via Airbnb’s instant messaging about this or any other issue we could have helped and offered some assistance if you were having any difficulty during your stay.

As advertised with no surprises. Great value for the central location. Even though people living above it felt secure and safe. Comfy bed and clean all through. Good shower. Well equipped and clean and tidy kitchen. Not that we used the kitchen but if you were staying longer and not planning on eating out in town it would be ideal. I have one suggestion only... It might be a nice idea to get the bedding laundered and pressed at dry cleaners to add the perfect crisp touch. The line and towels were clean and fresh but not ironed. I can't complain as I don't iron my own at home but it's nice getting into a bed with fresh, crisp, ironed sheets and duvet cover. It's not a secret that the property is shared with others that live upstairs which BTW isn't a problem as the room and area are downstairs in the basement accessed via a private door and stairs. Being a shared house you need to expect movement from others living in the property above living out their lives in their home. They did not interfere once, in-fact I don't think we saw them only heard them moving about. Because of this, I would suggest wearing earplugs to bed if your prone to any noise keeping you awake at night. The tumble dryer was on above when we got in at midnight on Saturday and like tumbles do keep turning on and off but didn't stop me from sleeping. All in all, we were very pleased with our stay and would 100% stay again. Before you turn up, especially if in the dark do some prep work before you arrive to understand the exact location of the property and where the access gate is. I have suggested to Lee that he publishes a basic hand-drawn map of the area as it would be helpful for others. Basically, if your stood in the road with salvation army and theatre either side of you then your there but a little pic with arrows would help all.

Was very happy at Lee's. Entering the flat and check-in/check-out was especially convenient, so I could come and go as I liked, and because there is a separate kitchen and bathroom I was able to get on with my mornings/evenings without any hassle or inconvenience, which suited me perfectly. It's great to have the kitchen so that you have the option of cooking - this was ideal for me as I stayed for over a week and wasn't keen on eating out every night! It's right in the town too; it was 10 minutes or less to the cathedral and shops and 30 minutes or so up to the University, and the river Exe is just a few minutes away and pleasant for a walk. Highly recommended for people who are after convenience!
