Do yourself a favor and don't miss an opportunity to stay with Grace in Queretaro! Grace is a lovely person and has created a lovely, welcoming home. A quiet refuge in the heart of Queretaro, just a short walk from the center of the city and great sightseeing.
Her AirBnB room is excellent! The bed is large and comfortable with great pillows and comfortable bedding. The room has a private bathroom with shower. The shower has hot water much, much more quickly than most places we've stayed in Mexico (That's including about 40 years of traveling there.) The sink is in the bedroom, so I could use the sink while my husband was in the bathroom.
Grace has equipped the room with a hot pot, cups, bowls, silverware, plenty of towels (extra towels, washcloths, hand towels), a small regrigerator with freezer, a place to hang clothes, and shelves for folded items. There are 3 lamps, an overhead light, and 2 light fixtures over the mirror above the sink. There is an overhead light in the shower and another in the toilet room. So, there is ample lighting unlike many places we've stayed in Mexico. There is a table with two chairs providing room for meals, computer work, writing, etc.
As soon as you come in the door from the street, the noise of the city fades away and you can relax. The entryway is lovely with many flowering plants, and there is a 2-level roof top with many more lovely plants and a table and chairs on the upper level. The lower level is where Grace has a clothesline. There is an excellent view from the rooftop.
Grace kindly let us use her stove to prepare eggs for breakfast, hot tea, cooked vegetables for supper, etc. We ate very healthy meals with turkey and ham bought at the Aurerra Bodega deli, about a mile and a half walk from Grace's home. In the other direction, is the mercado where we bought delicious produce, eggs, and avocadoes. Yum! The lady that sold us the avocadoes asked when we wanted to eat them, and she selected the ripeness based on our needs. And the price!!! We ate avocadoes at every meal!
This was our second stay with Grace in Queretaro. We can't imagine we'll ever want to stay anywhere else when we are in Queretaro. We'll be back and will make sure to reserve Grace's place very early. She is an extremely kind lady and has lots of excellent advice about getting to her place, sightseeing, restaurants, etc. In the room is a map of Queretaro with descriptions of nearby restaurants recommended by Grace.
Thank you, Grace!!
