We are a musician couple who welcome you to our home and West Chestnut St which are a part of the rich history of the Hudson Valley. Situated overlooking and a short walk or drive from the popular Rondout district with its marina, cafe's, restaurants, galleries and antique stores, uptown Kingston (and some of the oldest buildings in the country) is also a nearby and worth visiting to experience it's farmers markets, galleries, antiques, and dining. The historic towns of Rhinebeck, Stoneridge, Woodstock, Rosendale, New Paltz, and Red Hook are all within a 20 minute drive as is Bard College and the many activities such as hiking, skiing, rock climbing, kayaking, antiquing and dining.

This listing is for the master suite of the home. It is quietly grand, providing a sense of seclusion with it's views over the Catskill mountains (in the winter when the trees aren't obscuring the range!) and beautiful trees lining the property. See which way the breeze is blowing by the way the pretty brass rooster gleaming in the morning sun atop our old fashioned garage turns.

Spacious with high ceilings, and re-painted in its serene original color of duck egg blue, you will relax in the uber comfy queen sized bed with beautiful antique French linen sheets.

The ensuite bathroom is in its original 1920's Art Deco incarnation including the stunning large basin and mirror set.

There is a comfortable daybed/single bed with organic latex mattress for a comfy place to sit and read, or for an extra person to sleep.

Accesso per gli ospiti
You are welcome to relax throughout the first floor parlor, sitting room and dining room, or on the large porches to enjoy your morning coffee or soak up a sunset over the catskill mountain range. We have a pool for those that enjoy swimming in the warm season.

We serve organic coffee and teas in the dining room every morning that some guests enjoy on the porches in fine weather. We don't share access to the kitchen, however tea and coffee making facilities are available in the dining room throughout the day.

Altre cose da tenere a mente
This is a historic home, with creaky floors, and sticking doors (if the rain should really pour). If you prefer modern and new, our home is not the place for you. For those that prize things made by hand, kept original (as much as we can), I'm sure you'll find there's comfort here, in warm wood, and welcome cheer.

As much as we love children we are not set up for them, so 18+ guests only thanks.

We have separate living quarters so that your privacy is maintained. Our small dog is contained so that guests won't be disturbed or need to worry about allergies.

Kingston, New York, Stati Uniti

Just a few minutes from dining in the popular Roundout area with its antique stores, galleries and marina and nearby to uptown Kingston which is worth a visit to check out the farmers market, restaurants, bars, cafés and beautiful historic buildings.  As well you will be within 20 minute a drive to Woodstock, Stoneridge, Saugerties, Rhinebeck, Bard College and all the activities in the area such as walking, hiking, rock climbing and skiing.

West Chestnut St is one of the most beautiful streets in Kingston known for its historic homes. Jervis McEntee the famous landscape artist lived on the street with his family including the famous colonel, as did Calvert Vaux who was the renowned landscape architect and partner to Frederic Olmsted who designed Central Park in NYC. A walk down the end of the street will find you at the cemetery also designed by him (where he is also laid to rest) and where the natural landscape reminds one of Central Park.

When our house isn't full of musicians we enjoy sharing our take on historic decorating with people that love old homes.
