It was founded in 1888 and originally used as a wet market, while the current building was completed in 1937. It is also strategically located within public transport facilities such as RapidKL LRT and bus services. Central Market has created a corner to display multi-ethnicity and the stalls are zoned based on the features of each race. The purpose of this new zone is to let the visitors have an insight of the cultural difference of the various races in Malaysia. Attractions Around Kota Raya Shopping Complex is the biggest commercial centre closest. The Pasar Seni MRT Station is a mere a 10 minutes walk from the complex. The lower ground floor houses an extensive supermarket, where you can find imported produce, sashimi, pre-packaged bentos, baked goods, snacks, and alcoholic beverages. There’s also a food court housing popular chains such as Sobaya Shige, Tsujiri, Ginza Hagaten, Yakitori Hanabi, and Sushi Shoya.
