Nice walks close to Old Smokey
This is a lovely beach walk of approximately 3 miles (each way) from cottage or 2.5 miles if starting at the beach to the North side of the harbour. There are parking spots adjacent to the beach. Head for Bamburgh Castle which you will see on the coastline. Particularly nice to do when the tide is out creating a very wide expansive beach. You can keep to the beach all the way to the Castle or there are also nice stretches of dunes to explore along the way.

It has a real seaside holiday feel with traditional fishermen, the famous smoked kippers and access to the Farne Islands and pleasure boat rides from the harbour. The Main Street of Seahouses has a good choice of restaurants including a choice of 3 renowned fish and chip restaurants! (Lewis's is my favourite)
There are beautiful beaches offering idyllic walks either side of Seahouses leading to Bamburgh and Beadnell.

This is a cabin set close to the dunes within the car park area of Beadnell Bay, it has outside picnic tables only. Although it's appearance is not overly inviting the food is actually very nice and it's a great place to grab a coffee and a Bamburgh Banger Bap or kipper bun etc. I'm told they also do nice evening dishes too, paella etc. Worth a visit if looking for somewhere relaxed and easy whilst at Beadnell Bay.
