The grungiest of dive bars; we love it. It was featured on Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives a few years back which has un-grungified the clientele. The food is very yum and definitely not just bar fare. Orpheus Brewing has weekly tastings and is tucked in on a quiet sidestreet that overlooks the north end of Piedmont Park. You can easily walk here from the house. During spring/summer/fall, they often have live music.

Our neighborhood's own whiskey distillery! They do tastings and events. It's in the Armour Yards area which is close, but I would not suggest walking due to the traffic through that area getting to/from the interstate.

The Tabernacle is one of those perfect venues... small enough to feel intimate but large enough to pull in some awesome names. I've only ever been to open ticket events here, but there are seats in the balcony where you can sit comfortably.
