Triq IL-KbiraMgarr is a small farming town which is built around a beautiful church. The restaurant itself simply wonderful, specializing in local dishes such as Rabbit and Horsemeat (which are both delicious) but also has a large and varied menu including pastas, burgers, seafood and some of the best pizzas you will find anywhere, all at crazy low prices
This modern bar & restaurant right on the beachfront is a must visit during your trip to Mellieha, whether for just drinks or a fabulous meal by the sea. Finished to an extremely high standard yet keeping a laid back beach club atmosphere. Great for families as parents can relax whilst watching the kids feed the fish on the jetty below, or for a romantic evening for 2 watching the sunset over Meilleha Bay. There are lots of tables so booking isn’t usually required. 10 minute walk from Tas Sellum

Beaches
Mellieha is conveniently located near most of Malta's best beaches, here are our favourites. The wind direction makes a huge difference to how clear the water is, so we suggest using a website called Which Beach Malta to help you decide where to spend your day
Malta's biggest and best beach. Perfect for those of all ages as the entry to the water is very gradual so easy for the kids and the grand parents! Once on the beach you will be spoilt for choice whatever it is you need, wether it be food, drinks, water sports, inflatables, etc!

A small sandy beach but easily one of the most beautiful in Malta. Less busy than some of the others due to the long stairway down, but well worth the effort. Amazing snorkeling and an excellent restaurant. Also has sunbeds on a terrace area for the non lovers of sand.

Paradise Bay Lido
Triq Il-LatnijaA small sandy beach but easily one of the most beautiful in Malta. Less busy than some of the others due to the long stairway down, but well worth the effort. Amazing snorkeling and an excellent restaurant. Also has sunbeds on a terrace area for the non lovers of sand.
One of Malta's largest and most popular beaches, given it's name Golden Bay due to the Golden color sand. If its windy head here for some fun in the big waves!

Probably our favourite beach, access is tricky as there are lots of steps down (and obviously up) but it’s worth it. Beautiful beach with excellent snorkelling and less busy than it’s neighbour Golden Bay due to the steps. Fantastic restaurant for lunch right on the beach also

Take a stroll around the impressive boats and have a meal in one of the amazing restaurants overlooking the harbour. Top Tip! Head to the Quarterdeck Bar at the Hilton Hotel for some pre-dinner cocktails overlooking Portomaso Harbour to set the evening off in style.

Pronounced PAT-SHEE-VILLE, Paceville is the party capital of Malta. If you’re feeling adventurous, head here for an almost unlimited selection of bars & nightclubs. Don’t blame us for the hangovers though!

Beachaven is another hidden gem in the beautiful bay of Xemxija (pronounced SHEM-SHE-YA). Located next to and literally above the water via its raised decking, it was originally a boathouse where boats could pull up and get refreshments, fill up with fuel etc. However these days it is now also a lido and bar/restaurant, meaning you can relax here all day on the sun loungers watching the boats coming in and out, whilst keeping refreshed at the bar. Alternatively head here in the evening and sit on the decking amongst the boats and have a meal and a few drinks taking in the sea air. Food here is basic but good, but Beachaven is all about the location, it’s a beautiful place to be, especially in the evening.

Beachaven is another hidden gem in the beautiful bay of Xemxija (pronounced SHEM-SHE-YA). Located next to and literally above the water via its raised decking, it was originally a boathouse where boats could pull up and get refreshments, fill up with fuel etc. However these days it is now also a lido and bar/restaurant, meaning you can relax here all day on the sun loungers watching the boats coming in and out, whilst keeping refreshed at the bar. Alternatively head here in the evening and sit on the decking amongst the boats and have a meal and a few drinks taking in the sea air. Food here is basic but good, but Beachaven is all about the location, it’s a beautiful place to be, especially in the evening.
Blue Lagoon is a must visit, the water is crystal clear and its one of the main tourist attractions in Malta, you can get boats trips from almost anywhere. However its so popular/busy you cant really enjoy it on the normal boat trips, so we suggest hiring a self drive boat, and head over there early in the morning (9am ish), anchor up and you'll have the place to yourself before the boat trips arrive. Take a cool bag with some beers, lunch etc as well as your masks/snorkels and it will be the highlight of your trip. This is the best place we've found for self drive boats

However its so popular/busy you cant really enjoy it on the normal boat trips, so we suggest hiring a self drive boat, and head over there early in the morning (9am ish), anchor up and you'll have the place to yourself before the boat trips arrive. Take a cool bag with some beers, lunch etc as well as your masks/snorkels and it will be the highlight of your trip. This is the best place we've found for self drive boats

They have lots of scuba options but also do snorkelling trips and private boat charters. Their private evening cruise with BBQ is the perfect way to finish off your holiday in style.
