The top end of brick lane is very well knows for it's vintage clothing shops. The bottom end has a plethora of Indian restaurants. They are quite aggressively advertising their restaurants, so don't go into any one unless they promise you a free starter, a free drink and 20% off... A good backup if it all get's too much is Aladin.
