They rent jet skis, pontoon boats, kayaks and bikes on Lake Augusta just up river, in Sunbury. A family picnic on a pontoon boat is very much the style on the Susquehanna River--everyone does it!--and Lake August is great for jet skis.

The biking trail along Roaring Creek and the reservoirs is gorgeous and peaceful. Go up to Sunbury, take 61 and 487 to Elysburg, then turn on to 54 South toward Bear Gap. You will see on left entrance for Weiser State Forest--Park in the lot you come to and bring your bike down to the Roaring Creek Trail. It runs along the beautiful reservoir through thick forests.
