If you are coming back from a night out theres a Kebab caravan just down the street from the apartment that simply makes very delicious Kebabs with a spicy sauce. (Address here is of their restaurant in downtown Espinho as I cannot find the caravan´s address).

If you are a shrimp lover, you have to come here. They are famous for their shrimp and squid skewers with a garlic sauce. The restaurant is super traditional and its the time of place where you go for the food and nothing else. Please note, that it does get full almost everyday and they do not take reservations.

For us locals, the casino is the perfect place to go on a winter night or a cold day as if you cannot be outdoors there is not much more to do in Espinho. Very updated casino with new machines coming often.

This is a great little park located in Cortegaca where you can enjoy some time in the nature. It has a cafe serving food, a tree house, and some activities. Most interestingly you can rent bikes for free there and cycle through a cycle lane for 12 kms to reach the Furadouro Beach. They also have bikes for children.

Getting Around
If you are planning to take the train to Porto this station is one stop closer than Espinho and normally has better free parking options than Espinho. It is about a 7 minute drive. To buy the ticket to Porto you have to first buy a green card for 0.50 cents and then the ticket will cost you 1.75 euros one-way. To go to the center of Porto, you should get out at Porto Sao Bento. If you have to go to the airport or transfer trains then you should get out in Porto Campanha where you can switch to the metro line.
