The area is popular for walking, cycling and climbing and the cottage has views of Stanage Edge. The village has a train station, regular bus service, shops pubs, restaurants and a stunning open air swimming pool. Chatsworth House, Bakewell and Castleton are all within easy travelling distance.

This shepherd's hut, situated on a working farm, sleeps two people in a king size bed with separate shower room. Kitchen facilities with toaster, kettle, microwave, fridge, 2-ring hob. There are two pubs, two cafes, a tourist information centre (The Moorland Centre), and a general store in the village.
