The old Cité of Carcassonne is a spectacular walled town – the largest medieval town in Europe with its city walls intact. There is an impressive firework at the 14th of July!

Fortified City of Carcassonne - World Heritage Site, just don't expect to be alone though. During winter it can be very quiet and you'll feel like being sent back to the medieval age.

World famous UNESCO heritage citadel. Featured in many films and with fully working town within the walls. Many good restaurants and cafes. Live music in summer

A fantastic walled city - but beware it does get very busy in the holiday season, get there early!
