Visit this historic neighborhood just a short 5 minute drive away. Stroll under the oak trees while viewing historic homes or stop for a drink at a local coffee shop or bar. You can take a nice walk on the levee or ride the ferry across the river to the French Quarter.

Just a couple miles away passed the Mississippi River Bridge is Algiers Point where you can park for free and hop a ferry ride to Downtown and French Quarter. The most family, bicycle and puppy friendly neighborhood in New Orleans.... PERIOD! Old Downtown Gretna and The Point are sister/brother competing for this title. It's also the only piece of New Orleans that sits on the West Bank of the River. Just as we enjoy the quant life of Gretna we also spend a great deal of time with our neighboring New Orleanians locals. A local's safe and friendly getaway from the hustle bustle of New Orleans with all the entertainment and sites you want. The Point is where its at. A quiet suburb on the Mississippi River’s West Bank, Algiers Point is a mix of homey pubs, small art galleries and quaint Creole cottages. Visitors cross via the New Orleans Ferry or the Crescent City Connection Bridge for views over to Jackson Square and the French Quarter. Joggers and cyclists follow the levee path, where open-air concerts at the Algiers Ferry Landing draw crowds.

Catch the ferry across the river and take a romantic stroll on the levy to watch the sun set behind the St. Louis Cathedral. From this side of the river you can admire all of the french quarter.

Board the Ferry for $2.00 and ride across the Mississippi River to the quaint Algiers Point. Grab a bite to eat at one of the river front restaurants and take a stroll on the levee to capture the amazing view of NOLA from the other side.
