A must visit. Smuggles Inn. One of our first visits with each other over 21 years ago. Rye is a beautiful village about an hour from here.

An historic inn where the notorious Hawkhurst gang of smugglers used to meet in the 18th century. The inn was rebuilt in 1420 after the fire in Rye of 1377 when the French burnt the town.
