Lake Como has been a popular retreat for aristocrats and wealthy people since Roman times, and a very popular tourist attraction with many artistic and cultural gems. It has many villas and palaces such as Villa d'Este, Villa Balbianello, and Villa Carlotta. Many famous people have had and have homes on the shores of Lake Como.

The lake of Como was a very nice place even before then George Clooney bought a huge historical Villa :-) just now it became more famous!! The lake is a fantastic long panoramic way you can drive all around the perimeter or to sail by the ferryboat that take you in many of the villages along the cost. Of course from springtime to autumn is the best, but also in winter can give some gift of warm and sunny days even when Milan is close in a cloudy and cold sky
