settembre 2021MIXED REVIEW BUYER BEWARE of long contract & post stay issues with Security Deposit
I'm really torn on this review b/c we had a really nice time. Let me start with all the good stuff. We had a good low key guys weekend with a group of friends that consisted of football, fishing off the dock, and relaxing by the pool. My friend just recovered from beating cancer at the age of 38 and it was what we needed. The kitchen is well equipped, pool is great, nice dock for fishing (bring your poles!), and great outdoor space for lounging. The host is good at responding pretty quickly and provided a welcome enviornment. There's lots of towels, coffee pods for a Keurig and plenty of stuff to help your stay including beach gear.
The bad...The bedding situation could be improved. There's some really tiny bunkbeds in Bedroom 2, and no bedding in Bedroom 3. Staying with a group of guys in their 40s, we had expected better bedding so someone didn't have to sleep on the floor for a place that sleeps 10.
The ugly...We signed a rental agreement for 6 guests and brought only 6 guests. The cleaners sent the host a note they cleaned more than 6 sheets or something (again 6 family guys in their 40s celebrating a friend recovering from cancer) and the host DIDN'T ask any questions, but unfortunately inclined we were less than truthful. This really hurt. We shed tears of joy over the weekend and a bit of this was stolen. My friend who beat cancer renounced his celebration for church, life, and his religion and we celebrated him.
This was a great, heartfelt weekend, with a great friend that recently beat cancer (38 years old) with two young children, and for the host to do this was a shame and very hurtful. We took care of the property like our own, followed all the rules, cleaned up extensively (including the kitchen), and were thanked on our way out with the inclination of anything but the truth. We were deeply offended and thought we did a nice job of being respectful.
Honestly, I'm at a loss for words and didn't think in a 100 years this would happen to a bunch of honest guys who were celebrating a friend recovering from a serious bout of cancer where we almost lost him. We are deeply hurt by this and wish the host would have simply asked vs. assuming false intent.
