settembre 2021What a nightmare of an experience. My interactions (or lack thereof) with Hoss/Dominic/or the fifty other people who are listed as hosts here (none of whom were ever present during my time at the listing) has just been this horrible catalyst that I’m still frustratingly trying to remedy with Airbnb. After about a week, thirty calls, a few dozen messages in several message threads, and a second listing that is even worse than this one, I am still dealing with the consequences of choosing to book with Hoss/Dominic/Others.
I don’t know how they have anything above a 2 star rating or why Airbnb is still allowing them to post their rooms. The property is nothing like what’s listed. The room that I booked initially, when I arrived, there was a bowl of eaten food on the floor, clothes on the bed, tv as if someone was already staying there. Took about an hour to get a message response from the host (their phone number does not work and they have no other way they can be contacted. And yet Airbnb doesn’t care) in which their solution was to transfer me from one host to another until they finally decided to give me a different room.
I was going to deal and say, maybe they made a mistake. I’m a simple person, looking for simple amenities. But the room they sent me to was worse than the room I booked. The blinds were broken so anyone could peer into the room; the towel rack had come off the wall and fallen on the floor, and it is directly inside of the driveway so you can immediately hear people parking their trucks. Again, I was just going to deal because Airbnb is abysmal towards guests and only cares about $$ and I booked a five week stay so I was going to suck it up— but the aforementioned agreement I had with the hosts (just had a feeling) of me possibly decreasing the stay from five weeks before I booked was somehow lost in translation and the hosts idea of honoring that was yes allowing me to cancel or alter the stay while keeping the full $1180-$1500 I had paid, which wasn’t happening.
This is the kind of thing that makes me want to sue Airbnb and every such money-grabbing, inhumane piece of scum that posts a listing that they KNOW they themselves would never live in and just keeps cycling people through, making bank and it is just… I’m from the Midwest and we don’t do things there like people do here in LA. I’m just so sick and tired of the scams and part of the reason why I am in the Airbnb at all was to save money to finally leave.
Anyway— it has been a week since I booked, arrived, noticed the horrible conditions, and left/canceled the trip with hoss/dominic/others (Airbnb canceled and fully refunded due to the aforementioned hosts violations) and I am still dealing with this problem as the next place Airbnb rebooked me into is somehow ten times as bad as this one. Please, read the reviews, not just for this room but for all of their properties— they have done this exact bait and switch to other guests and Airbnb isn’t going to do anything so you have to take the initiative for yourself. When they stop getting people in their rooms they will do something to fix the problems and their communication. I know it’s cheaper than other listings, but this is why… it’s not worth the detriment to your mental health.
And, almost forgot— random tween girls screaming unattended on the property at midnight. There’s no one out in the day then it’s like a fiesta every night around 10 pm to early morning. Someone was banging on the door after hours and didn’t feel safe enough to answer. If anything goes wrong you won’t be able to contact the host and you don’t want to risk being unable to get your money back because Airbnb doesn’t have your back.

agosto 2021From the second I went in they made a huge mistake. There was no hot water for almost a week! Couldn’t bathe for my daughters bday. All of us!! Was accused of stealing someone’s packages, checked cameras and nothing on me! Had the “security” push the door in while I’m in the room with my daughters and they weren’t fully clothed since I had just showered them!

agosto 2021Upon arrival there was a delay checking in, I was only given the room access code and not the front door access code. I had to wait 30 mins+ for the host to respond.
One of the closet rods was missing from the closet upon check-in, and was never put up despite asking countless times.
The actual kitchen with the stove, oven, and washer/dryer is locked. You only have access to a refrigerator, freezer, microwave, and a table with four chairs. No living room, coffee maker, toaster, etc..The patio area was a joke when we arrived. The family who was already there marked their territory with cigar wrappers, trash, rotten food, etc as if it were their own.
The housemates were not respectful of common areas. Not one of them had any formal home-training as far as I could see. The way the treated the house by slamming doors, overflowing the trash, not picking up after themselves was shameful. They left trash everywhere, and were loud all day and night, and some of them took our food items occasionally. If you don’t mind people smoking weed and getting obnoxiously drunk all day then disregard this part of the review. Also, friends of the guests were spending the night, and were loud and going in our refrigerator, so they also don’t care about COVID-19 protocols.
In addition during my second month I believe that a housemate stole my packages. I alerted the hosts, and was not given footage from the camera to see who took my packages. Not to mention this same housemate had just recently stolen diapers, a laptop, and $5,000 from a room in the back because an EMPLOYEE gave her the code to that room thinking no one was in it. How do I know? Because the security guy told me, but I’m sure they didn’t share that info with the lady who’s stuff got stolen.
Moving right along, BOTH beds broke in the middle our our stay, and we asked at least 15 times for it to be fixed, they said it would be but no one ever fixed it. The showers in our bathroom constantly leaked water all over the floor causing knats.
The hot was would randomly be off for days, the WiFi was off for TWO WEEKS! I pleaded with the host to fix it, as I do a lot online work for my job. They kept saying they had people coming out. And they didn’t try to compensate me for anything, if a amenity is not working that’s listed, you need to adjust the price accordingly, or fix the issue ASAP! I had a very important zoom interview that I was late for, because I was trying to buy cellular data!
About a week before our stay ended I got a message telling me that I had to be out my noon. They gave me no explanation, expect for it was their house, and their rules basically. So I start booking my next Airbnb right away, and I asked the host that came in the time we had to leave… Come to find out it was our housemate that they were trying to put out! None of the hosts ever know what’s going on or which one of their guests their speaking to! Fast forward, after they finally put her out, guess what? She breaks in through the window! Her and her kids were sitting on the kitchen floor, and she eventually broke back onto her bedroom. I have never witnessed anything like this before in my life!
The only time the hosts respond is if you’re trying to re-book or if you’re locked out. One of the guests in the back told me that that had to climb through they’re windows because their front door code stopped working and the hosts weren’t responding.
The parking is a joke. So much so that my sisters rental car got hit, and guess what? They didn’t produce camera footage from that either. Everyone blocks other cars in, and there’s hardly any space. And the street parking is a joke. Theres 3 houses with about 5 rooms in EACH, and about 5-6 SAFE parking spots…need I say more? There’s also a homeless guy that sleeps right outside the lawn, so that’s nice to come home to everyday.
Think you have the house to yourself? Think again! Every morning & day the cleaning ladies or a maintenance man are in there waking you up! It’s so rude, they play music and have loud conversations in the morning as if no-one stays there! After while, we were the only ones there during our stay, and we still had no peace because they just come in the house asking you to move your car or thinking it’s your checkout date or just fixing something loudly. There’s also random Mexican bands playing until 2am, nothing to do with the hosts but may be a concern to those who like a peaceful rest at night.
Also, the ONLY reason I booked for that second moth was out of convenience, it was a decent price, and our stuff was already there…that’s it. But I refuse to pay for another month when you don’t even have the decency to fix broken beds that caused crooks in your guests neck! These are the most most money hungry host I’ve ever experienced, they don’t care about your stay and they prove it everyday. Oh yeah, and on our checkout day the cleaning lady was there bright and early at 9:15am knocking on our door asking if we were checking out…check out was at 10am. Again, unbelievable, rude, and inconsiderate.
Pros: gas stations close by, bus stops, quick food options, laundromat in walking distance, etc.
All in all, if the hosts were more concerned with guest’s satisfaction than a check it wouldn’t be a bad place. It’s actually a pretty neat setup despite it’s hang ups and sketchy people. Nevertheless, thank you for providing a roof
